Apple’s Top Secret Mixed Reality & Reality Computing Lab

Today, in a market report, Piper Jaffrays analyst Gene Munster predicted that Apple was working on augmented reality, evidenced by the tech giant’s acquisition of AR software firm Metaio and, more recently, a lead sound engineer from Microsoft’s HoloLens.  On 3D Printing Industry, I explore Apple’s likely research into reality computing and its relationship to other tech companies also entering the space.

Michael , very much enjoying your commentary on the rapidly emerging 3D space. Would very much appreciate any guidance you can provide to well researched/informative presentations or papers on reality computing . Have had a good look at Autodesk which is helpful & have tried to find material from Rick Rundell from Autodesk without luck. Is there something from industry people / investment banks that you consider appropriate ?

    Regards

    Tim

    Hi Tim,

Here is an interview we did with Rick Rundell at 3D Printing Industry (my day job): http://3dprintingindustry.com/2014/10/02/computing-reality-rick-rundell-autodesk/

Also, if you search “mixed reality” on 3DPI, you can read about anything we’ve covered on the topic!
