To Propose by mike!

Here’s a love song between a robot (mike!) and a ghost (Lauren “L. Ron” Valbracht) from the Clockophile and the Heliotropic Future Machine. Thanks, Lauren!

    lyrics:
robot: from the chamber of your dreams, came a man made machine.
he hold you tight. he hold you mean. and you never felt so clean.

ghost: i regret to inform you that there’ll come a day when you look in the mirror and you’ll have to say, “it’s ghastly to love a ghost this way. just leave it, accept that it’ll all be okay.”

robot: beneath the sheets is a scene unseen, unseemliness seemly unseamed. if to hold a ghost is to hold nothing, then holy ghost give me nothing.

ghost: it seems to me that you’re missing the point. a ghost is a thing that’s missing its point. it’s not a particle, it’s not a wave. it’s just everything that hasn’t been explained.

robot: i think with time i’ll have you here with me.

ghost: where i live time’s a fantasy. and with no will how will you have me?

robot: i’m determined, can’t you see?

ghost: it’s not that you are ugly or even vaguely obscene. it’s just that i have to think if will you still love me for all eternity, until infinity completes.

by all accounts, i am fake

robot: then fake is what i’ll take.

ghost: but i don’t know what i am.

robot: and a robot understands that life, death, what’s it to me?
ghost: life, death, what does it mean?

in unison: life, death, when you’re all I see.

all together now: matrimony, matrimony, matrimony…repeats forever until the end of time.
